Home – Where I’m Safe, You’re Safe, We’re All Safe Together

stepsIf I could re-do the steps to our upstairs dormer, I would rip out the existing carpet, put in these wooden steps and hire an artist to come stencil in these exact words.

I love them.

And what a great reminder of what type of warm, inviting, loving, and most of all, forgiving atmosphere we all want to exist in our homes.

When these principles are common, rather than uncommon, our homes are safe places.

Safe places.
Safe relationships.
Safe people.

I like how author Jan Silvious describes the word “safe” here.

The safest people are those who don’t have to know something, nor do they talk about what they do discover. Jan Silvious.
