If your happiness comes from something you deposit, drive, drink, or digest, then face it – you are in prison, the prison of want…If you have the Shepherd, you have grace for every sin, direction for every turn, a candle for every corner, and an anchor for every storm. Max Lucado
There’s a reason why people search all over for a peaceful spot to rest, regroup, and recharge themselves (and their weary minds.) Unlike what the media will pitch to us, peace (and freedom) can’t be bought from a store, ordered online, or even received as a gift from our special someones.
No matter how much money we have to spend, good intentions to share, and love we desire to give…physical, material goods won’t cut it.
Don’t get me wrong, gifts can be beautiful expressions of love.
But anything you can deposit, drive, drink or digest always falls short of what the human heart most longs for…freedom…and peace.
It comes from the inside out…and it is always, always — an inside job.
